Charged with Assault and Battery

Leominster District Court

Client a 34 year old Leominster, MA woman charged with assault and battery after getting into a fight with two other women in a neighboring apartment building in Leominster, MA.

Based upon police officers observations of injuries to all three parties and their conflicting statements about the fight, police charged all three women with assault and battery.

Attorney Riddle was able to convince the District Attorney to dismiss the case against his client after convincing him that all parties involved intended to assert their 5th Amendment privilege against self-incrimination and as a result the Commonwealth would be unable to prove their case at trial.  Attorney Riddle further negotiated with the lawyer for the other parties to pay his client $200.00 in restitution to replace her eye glasses that were damaged in the fight.  Case dismissed before trial.
