Phillipston, MA man was charged with assault and battery on a police officer

Winchendon District Court Client a 57 year old Phillipston, MA man was charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, disturbing a public assembly and carrying a dangerous weapon. The client attended a special town meeting where he was alleged to have started talking out of order. After his behavior allegedly went on for ten minutes the local police chief dressed in plain clothes approached him to get him to quiet down. At that point the client was alleged to have become louder and began swearing. When the officer tried to escort the client out of the meeting he allegedly began to resist. Ultimately four local police officers dressed in plain clothes subdued the client.
